CASE STUDIES
THE PROJECT
Stray Poodle Media’s social strategy delivered over 7,000% Return on Investment for Ondatrópica.
THE PROJECT
Musician Jennifer Clarke was referred to Stray Poodle Media. As a musician with two releases on the cusp of releasing her third album, Jennifer wanted to enhance her web presence and create a buzz for her upcoming album.
The Stray Poodle Media Solution
We first identified Jennifer’s specific needs and what sort of presence she wanted to create. The next step was creating two versions of an artist biography for her: an extensive, elaborate bio, and a shorter version for use on websites with text limits. We then created a presence for her on the following 25 social media sites:
- Amazon
- Amazon Artist Central
- CD Baby
- Bandcamp
- Blogger
- Digg
- Fanbridge
- Flickr
- GetGlue
- iTunes
- Last.FM
- Myspace
- Pandora
- ReverbNation
- Songkick
- Soundcloud
- Spotify
- Tumblr
- Viinyl
- Waax
- WordPress
- Youtube
- Zune
Next, we worked on enhancing the visual elements of her social media sites and rebuilding her website. We created a blog and twitter posting calendar to manage a regular and prolific content posting initiative and commissioned Giant Robot Technologies to create a custom Facebook landing page and custom YouTube channel prior to working with Rodney Bowes Design and Giant Robot Technologies to recreate Jennifer’s website—in just three weeks.
During this process, we started the Dynamic Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Social Media Optimization (SMO) process to rank Jennifer for specific keywords and cross-reference her social media sites. The results (two months and six days later) :
November 1: BEFORE
- FACEBOOK LIKES: 0
- YOUTUBE VIEWS: 0
- YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS: 0
- TWITTER FOLLOWERS: 498
January 7: AFTER
- FACEBOOK LIKES: 3,872
- YOUTUBE VIEWS: 32,127
- YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS: 525
- TWITTER FOLLOWERS: 10,017
We then created a publicity coup for her amongst consumer, trade and news print publications, as well as uncovered a target, opt-in blogger demographic to promote her music. We also identified and marketed to specific radio stations in her market and genre.
It’s been a productive three months, and we’re only in the early throes of a long love affair with the music of Jennifer Clarke.
